# SoftChalk to Offer Reliable Scoring by Integrating with LMS Grade Books Through IMS LTI and Basic Outcomes

Richmond, Virginia, U.S. – October 12, 2010 – SoftChalk LLC, an award-winning provider of e-Learning content authoring software, today announced its collaboration with the IMS Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) group to support a new scoring solution that will work directly with Learning Management Systems (LMS). This solution will use the IMS LTI and Basic outcomes framework, which allows remote tools and content to be integrated into a LMS. For SoftChalk users, this collaboration will result in easier, and more reliable integration between SoftChalk content and LMS grade books.

SoftChalk is an IMS Alliance Member and innovative supporter of standards and interoperability. Currently SoftChalk supports IMS Common Cartridge v1.0 packaging and is working on a new tool using the Basic LTI framework. The product in development, SoftChalk ScoreCenter, will provide a scoring method that integrates with LMS grade books to reliably track detailed student score information. SoftChalk plans to launch ScoreCenter for Blackboard Learn later this year. Integration with other LMSs is planned for 2011.
